Total Environment is a Chartered Building Services Consultancy. It was founded in 1993 by Joe Briffa BSc MCIBSE CEng and has successfully completed several projects in the public and private sector. Our clients include building owners, building tenants, facilities managers, developers and architects.

   Total Environment undertake the design of engineering services for new and refurbished buildings. All engineers are encouraged to identify with client need and expectation, so that engineering solutions are appropriate and cost-effective.

   We are innovative in our approach to design and we liaise closely with in-house facilities engineers to ensure that solutions are practical and maintainable.

   For all design, we provide a clear written statement of scheme content from the project outset. This enables other design professionals to comment and the Quantity Surveyor to realistically assess cost. More importantly, it enables clients to easily understand the scope of works involved.

   We are committed to providing ‘value engineered solutions’. Value engineering requires us to view each system and sub-system as an asset, which has a capital cost, a lifetime maintenance cost and an energy usage and enables us to balance these factors with each projects particular requirements.

   As a practice we have a strong interest in sustainable development and use of renewable energy in buildings and keep abreast of best practice and design trends.
